We are based out of South Agraharam Street here in Villupuram. It’s a busy spot but we manage okay. The group started because a few of us farmers decided it was better to work together than try and handle everything alone. Farming in Tamil Nadu has its ups and downs, mostly depending on the rain and the market prices that week. We spend a lot of time talking to the members about what they're growing. It’s not fancy work. Some days we are just sitting in the office dealing with paperwork or checking the crops nearby. The address is 1053/4 and if you know the area, it’s easy enough to find. We try to keep things simple here. Most of us have been in agriculture our whole lives, so we know the struggles. We aren't a big corporation with shiny offices. It's just a room with some chairs and a lot of talk about seeds and soil. Villupuram is a good place for this kind of work. We handle the collection and sometimes the selling part for the small guys around here. It takes a lot of effort to keep everything moving. Sometimes the weather doesn't help at all. But we stay open and keep at it. People stop by to chat or ask about prices. That’s how we spend our days mostly. We've seen many seasons come and go. Each one brings something different. We just stay here on South Agraharam Street and take it as it comes. It's not about getting rich. It's about staying afloat and making sure the work gets done right for the people in our group.
