Phoenix Controls (Cbe)

Phoenix Controls (Cbe) is tucked away at No.382-B on Somasundram Mill Road. It’s an area with a lot of history, and you can feel that when you walk down the street. Our shop is pretty straightforward. We work on control systems and panels, so there is always a lot of wire and small components lying around. Sometimes it feels like we are surrounded by copper and plastic. The lighting isn't the best in the back, but we have some good desk lamps that help us see what we’re doing. We aren't the type of people to wear suits to work. Usually, it’s just jeans and a shirt that might have a bit of grease on it. We have a small table where we eat our lunch together, mostly home-cooked food brought in tins. We talk about the local news or how the weather is changing. It's a quiet rhythm we have here. Somasundram Mill Road has its own character, and we fit right in. We don't have a fancy website or a PR person. If someone needs something, they just come by or call. We do the work, test the controls, and make sure they do what they are supposed to do. There’s a certain satisfaction in seeing a panel wired up correctly. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s our job and we do it well enough to keep the doors open.
