You can find Sri Harihara Sudan Coconut Traders on Palladam Main Road, at Sf. No. 116/1-a/1-c. It’s a busy road, so there is always a lot of dust and noise from the traffic passing by. We have piles of coconuts stacked up in different sections of the yard. Our work is pretty simple but it’s heavy. We spend the whole day dehusking, sorting by size, and loading them into big burlap sacks. Your hands get tough from the coconut fibers after a few months of doing this. It’s not the kind of job where you wear a clean shirt to work. By noon, we’re all covered in bits of husk and sweat. We don’t have a fancy office, just a small room with a fan where we keep the accounts and take a seat when the heat gets too much. The trucks pull in right off the main road, and we have to move fast to get them loaded so they don’t block the way. Sometimes the coconut supply is high, and other times it’s a bit thin, so we just take it as it comes. It’s a local operation, and most of us have lived around Palladam all our lives. We don't make big promises to anyone. We just show up, do the sorting, and send the trucks on their way.
