P Santhil Kumar Earthmovers

Out here at 3/89 in Annur, the day starts pretty early. P Santhil Kumar Earthmovers is just a place where we keep the machines and handle the local digging work around Metturpalayam. It’s dusty and the sun is usually beating down on the yard. We have a couple of backhoes and some heavy gear that needs grease and attention almost every morning before we head out to a site. It’s not a fancy setup. The office is just a small room with some old chairs and a desk where we keep the logs. Most of the time, the guys are out in the field getting their hands dirty. You can hear the engines idling from the road. People around here know where to find us if they need a foundation dug or some land cleared. We don’t do much advertising because the work usually speaks for itself through word of mouth in the village. Sometimes the machines break down right when you need them, and that’s just part of the job. We spend a lot of time fixing hydraulics or changing tires in the heat. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy from sunrise until the light fades. We just try to get the job done so we can go home and do it again the next day. The roads around here are narrow, so moving the big equipment takes some patience. It’s just how things go in this part of town.
