You can find us over at 79/53 D in Premier Nagar. We are based in Othakalmandapam, which is a bit of a drive from the main Coimbatore city area. Noyyal Collective Farming Farmers Producer Company Limited is basically a group of us who live and work around here. We share the equipment and help each other out with the farming. The office we have is quite simple. It is just a place where we sit down to talk about the seeds, the water, and the market prices. The Premier Nagar area is fairly calm, which is nice for when we have to do our planning. We don't use any big words or have fancy presentations. We just look at what needs to be done on the land and we do it. The name Noyyal comes from the river, and it reminds us of the local geography we work with every day. Sometimes the rains are good and sometimes they are not, so we have to be ready for both. We have quite a few members now, and keeping track of everyone’s contribution takes up a lot of time. We use simple tools and try to keep our costs low. It is not always easy to coordinate so many farmers, but we manage by talking things through over tea in the afternoons. It is a lot of effort, but doing it together makes more sense.
