Manidhi Women Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our group is called Manidhi Women Farmer Producer Company Limited and we are located at No. 19/23 on Muthan Theru. This is in the Arunthathi area of Chetpet, which is part of Polur in Tiruvannamalai. It is a place where many women from the local community come together. We have our office in a small house on the street. It’s a very local neighborhood, so you’ll see kids playing and people drying grains out on the road. We focus on what the women farmers in this part of Tiruvannamalai are growing. Often we are dealing with groundnuts or pulses, depending on the season. The office doesn't have much in it, just some chairs and the records we have to keep for the government. We talk a lot about how to get our produce to the market without losing too much money. Being in Chetpet, we are a bit far from the big cities, but we like it that way. The weather is usually very dry, which is tough for the crops. We help each other out when someone’s crop isn't doing well. It’s more of a community thing than a big business. We just try to make sure everyone gets a fair share for their hard work. If you walk down Muthan Theru, just look for number 19/23. We are usually there during the day working on something. It’s a tight-knit group and we look out for one another.
