Madurai Agri Business Incubation Forum

Madurai Agri Business Incubation Forum is actually based at the Tamilnadu Agri University on Lawly Road in Coimbatore. Even though our name mentions Madurai, this is where we do most of our work within the Directorate of Agribusiness Development. It's a very busy campus most of the time. We spend our days helping folks who have new ideas for farming businesses. Since we are inside the university, there are always students and researchers walking around the hallways. Our office isn't anything special, just a place with some desks and computers where we talk to people about their business plans. We deal with a lot of paperwork and long meetings. It’s quite different from being out in the fields, but it’s still all about agriculture at the end of the day. Coimbatore-641003 is a good place to be because there is a lot of technology and knowledge around here. We try to be helpful to anyone who walks through the door at the Lawly Road site. Sometimes it gets a bit overwhelming with all the different projects going on at once. We don't really do much advertising; people usually find us through the university or by word of mouth. It's just a practical setup for helping new businesses get off the ground without too much trouble. We drink a lot of tea and spend hours looking at business charts and agricultural data every single day. The building is old and sometimes the fans are a bit loud, but it’s a good place to work.
