This specific part of Lakshmi Machine Works Ltd is the Machine Tool Division, and we are out at Arasur Post. It is a bit away from the main city buzz, which is good because we need the space for the heavy stuff we do. This facility is where we build the machines that other companies use to make their products. It’s a large site, and it smells like oil and metal most of the time. We aren't a small shop; it’s a big operation with a lot of moving parts. The guys on the floor are usually in overalls, and there is a lot of heavy lifting involved. It’s not the kind of place you come to for a quiet chat. It’s loud, and there’s always something being welded or machined. We’ve been out here at Arasur for a long time, and the place has grown over the years. We have seen a lot of changes in how machines are built, but the basic work remains the same. It takes a lot of patience to get these tools right. We don't do much in the way of fancy PR from this branch. We just focus on the engineering and making sure the machines don't fail when they get to the customer. It’s a lot of hard work and long shifts, but it’s what we do. The canteen is okay, and the tea is usually strong.
