L K Potato Mandi

L K Potato Mandi is located at 321, Ooty Main Road. If you’ve ever driven up toward the hills, you’ve likely passed our place many times. We are right on the main stretch, so it’s easy to find us even with the traffic. Our place at 321 isn't fancy at all. It’s basically a big open space where we handle the potatoes and get them ready. It smells like earth and vegetables most of the time, which is something we’ve grown to love. We don't have a corporate office or people in ties. We wear work boots and get our hands dirty every single day. It’s just the nature of working at a mandi. We’ve been on Ooty Main Road for a long time, and we know the seasonal changes well. When the harvest comes in, things get very hectic and we’re working from before sunrise until late at night. We don't have a mission statement or any of that stuff. We just want to make sure the potatoes are moved and the business stays steady. It’s a lot of physical labor and staying on our feet, but we’re used to it. The trucks come and go all day, and there's always a bit of shouting and laughing going on between the drivers and our crew. If you’re ever driving by and see the number 321, that’s us just doing our normal work like we always do.
