Jaihind Madukkarai Coconut Fed Farmers Producer Company Limited

Our office is located at 8/29 Thiru Vi Ka Street in K G Chavadi, right after you pass through the main part of the post area. Being a coconut federation means we spend a lot of our time talking about trees and harvests. The Madukkarai area has a lot of people involved in this type of work and we all kind of know each other from the neighborhood. It’s not a big corporate setup or anything like that. Just a few rooms where we keep our records and meet up to discuss what the farmers need for their land this year. Some mornings the street gets pretty noisy with the local traffic and people moving about but we've gotten used to it over the years. We started this because the farmers around Jaihind needed a central place to coordinate things and help each other out with the logistics. Most of us grew up around here so we know the soil and the way the seasons go. Sometimes we have meetings that go on too long because everyone has a different opinion on how to handle the coconut shells or the watering schedules. We just try to keep things moving along without too much fuss or complicated rules. If you come by the Thiru Vi Ka Street office you’ll usually find someone there sorting through papers or talking on the phone to one of the members. It’s straightforward work and we don't try to make it more complicated than it needs to be for the folks involved.
