Jacobs Engineering Works

Jacobs Engineering Works sits right at 11/1-B, near the Rg Pudur Pirivu junction on Avinashi Road. It is a busy stretch of road, so there is always the sound of traffic passing by our front door. Inside the shop, it’s a different kind of noise—mostly the hum of lathes and the occasional clatter of metal hitting the floor. We’ve been at this location for a good while, and most of the locals know the building. The space isn't huge, but we have managed to fit all the necessary gear into the corners. We spend most of our hours over the workbenches, fixing parts or turning steel. It’s the kind of place where your hands are always a bit greasy, no matter how much you wash them. We don’t have a big staff, just a few people who know their way around an engine or a piece of heavy machinery. Avinashi Road keeps us connected to the rest of the city, which is helpful when we need to pick up supplies or specialized tools. Sometimes the heat in the afternoon makes the metal too hot to touch without gloves, so we take a break then. We just take each job as it comes. There’s no big secret to how we operate; we just show up and put in the hours until the work is finished.
