Ass.Project Engineer

I’m based over in Vadavalli, Coimbatore, specifically in the G.C.T. Nagar area of Kasthurinakayan Palyam. My role is an assistant project engineer, which basically means I’m the one making sure things actually happen on the ground. I spend a lot of time looking at site plans and talking to workers. Coimbatore is a busy place for construction and projects, so there is always something going on. My office is just a regular room with a lot of maps and spreadsheets. I don't go in for big speeches or polished presentations. If something is broken or behind schedule, I just try to figure out why and fix it. Living and working around here is good because I know the local suppliers and how the weather affects the work. It gets pretty warm in the afternoons, so we try to get the heavy stuff done early. I’ve been at this for some time now, and I’ve learned that being practical is better than being fancy. You can find me at house number 15 most days if I’m not out at a site. I don't have a corporate team behind me, just a few colleagues and the folks I hire. We keep it straightforward. If the project gets finished and the work is decent, then I’ve done my job right for the day. It is a long day usually but I like seeing the buildings finally take shape after all the planning and the paperwork we have to go through.
