Freelancer

Coimbatore is where we are based, specifically at 74, New Megricar Road. It’s a busy street in Tamil Nadu, and there’s always something happening outside the window. We go by the name Freelancer, which is pretty much how we operate. It started as a small idea and just stayed that way. The office is really just a room with enough space for our equipment and some coffee mugs. We spend a lot of time on the phone or responding to emails. It’s a very independent way of working. There is no boss breathing down our necks, but that means we have to be disciplined ourselves. Sometimes it’s hard when the weather is nice outside and we’re stuck indoors at New Megricar Road. We see a lot of people passing by every day. The building is older, with high ceilings and walls that could probably use a fresh coat of paint. We don’t mind. It has character. We deal with all sorts of different tasks depending on what comes in. It keeps things interesting, even if it’s stressful sometimes. We aren't a big agency with hundreds of employees. It’s just a small group of us trying to make a living and doing decent work for the people who hire us.
