Our base is at No. 9 Dwaraka. It’s where everything for the website gets handled. Even though the name ends in a dot com, we are real people working out of a real building. It’s not a giant warehouse or anything impressive. It’s just our workspace where we keep the dance jewelry organized and ready to go. We spend a lot of time packing boxes and making sure the addresses are correct. Sometimes the postman has to wait a minute while we tape up the last few packages. It can get a bit messy with bubble wrap and boxes everywhere, especially when a big shipment arrives. We focus on jewelry that dancers need, which is a bit different from your everyday stuff. It has to be sturdy. We’ve learned a lot about what works and what doesn't over the years. We aren't trying to be some massive global corporation. We just want to make sure the person who ordered a necklace for their performance gets it on time. It’s a lot of looking at screens and then looking at physical pieces of jewelry. The building here at Dwaraka is a comfortable place to work. We know the neighbors and the local tea stall nearby. It’s a basic setup, but it’s ours and it allows us to do what we enjoy doing every day.
