We are located right on the Main Road in Keezhanatham, which is part of the Chidambaram area. If you drive past, you’ll see our place at 2/5. Bharathan Cashew Export is pretty much what the name says. We spend our days dealing with raw cashews and getting them ready for export. It’s a seasonal business in many ways, so some months are much busier than others. When the harvest comes in, the whole place is buzzing with activity. We have a lot of local people who come in to help with the sorting and processing. It’s hard work, sitting and grading cashews by hand, but it’s the only way to make sure the quality is right. The office is right next to the processing area, so it can get a bit loud with the machinery and people talking. We don't have a fancy website or a sales team. Most of our business comes from long-standing contacts we’ve made over the years. We spend a lot of time checking the moisture levels and making sure the packing is airtight. Cuddalore can get very humid, so we have to be careful with the storage. It’s a straightforward business. We buy the nuts, we process them, and we ship them out. There are always challenges, like price fluctuations or transport strikes, but we just take them in our stride and keep the wheels turning.
