Art U

Art U is located over in Saibaba Colony, which is a pretty decent part of town to be in. We are at No. 243, quite close to GCT College. Because of the college, there are always students wandering around Alagesan Road looking for things. It keeps the energy up around the shop. Our place is full of supplies and half-finished projects. It is never really tidy, but we know where everything is kept. You might find a stack of frames in one corner and some odd bits of material in another. We spend a lot of time just figuring out how to make things look right for whoever walks in. It isn’t a high-pressure environment, but we do work hard. The light in the front room is good for working, which helps. Sometimes we stand out on the pavement just to get a break from the smell of glue or paint. The traffic on Alagesan Road can get backed up in the afternoons, especially when classes let out at GCT. We’ve been at this spot for a while now and most people in the colony know us by sight. It’s a simple business. We don't have any fancy titles or big meetings. We just pick up our tools and get on with it until the sun goes down. It’s a good way to earn a paycheck while doing something with our hands in a neighborhood we actually like.
