Sri Lakshmi Vengatavara Bricks

Our yard is located right near Sarekarai Road, tucked into the Ravi Krishna Layout. Sri Lakshmi Vengatavara Bricks isn’t hard to find once you get into this part of the neighborhood. It’s a dusty place, mostly because of all the bricks we have sitting around out in the sun all day. We spend our days counting out different loads and helping the drivers back their trucks into the right spots. It can get a bit tight in the yard when two or three big vehicles show up at the exact same time. The layout is mostly quiet otherwise, with just the sound of our work going on. We have a small office where we keep all the records and papers, but mostly we are outside in the yard. The bricks are stacked high, and we try our best to keep them in neat rows so we know exactly what is in stock. Sometimes the dust gets on everything, including our clothes, but you get used to that after a while. We don’t have any fancy signs or big colorful posters. Just our name on a simple board out front by the road. People usually hear about us from their neighbors or just see the trucks moving through Ravi Krishna Layout. We like it here. It’s a steady kind of job that keeps us busy. You see the same faces every week, which is nice. When the rain comes, we have to cover the piles up very quickly. It’s just part of the routine we follow every day.
