If you’re driving down NH4 near Mk Hatty, you’ll probably see our place. We are right beside the highway at number 458. The Basaweshwara Stone Crusher is our neighbor, so it gets pretty noisy and dusty around here. That’s just part of being in this line of work. At Amma Bricks Company, we spend our time making sure the kiln is running right. It’s a lot of manual labor, hauling stuff back and forth. The trucks keep rolling by on the main road all day. Sometimes we get people stopping just because they saw the piles of bricks from their car window. We don't have a fancy reception area. Usually, you’ll find me or one of the guys near the stacks. We try to get the orders sorted before the sun goes down. It’s hard work, especially in the middle of summer. We’ve been at this location for a while. The ground is always covered in red dust. It gets into everything. We keep a water tank nearby for the workers and the bricks. It’s not a glamorous job, but we like being part of the local community. The highway makes it easy for us to send loads to the nearby towns. We just focus on the task at hand and try to keep things moving. There’s always another pile of clay waiting to be shaped. We just do what needs doing every morning. No use complaining about the dust.
