We've been at 573 Annasalai for quite a bit now. The shop isn't anything fancy, just a lot of shelves filled with parts and boards. People come in mostly for components that they can't find elsewhere in the city. It gets pretty loud outside with the traffic, but inside we just focus on the work. Sometimes it’s a bit messy behind the counter with all the wires and soldering tools laying around. We don't really bother with a big showroom because most folks who come here know exactly what they need before they even walk through the door. My brother and I run the place most days. We keep track of everything in these big old ledgers, though we tried moving to a computer last year. It’s a lot of work keeping up with the newer tech coming out, but we manage. If you’re looking for a specific transistor or just some copper wire, we usually have a box tucked away somewhere. The tea guy comes by at four, which is usually when we take a short break. It’s just a normal shop doing its thing. We don't have a fancy website or anything like that. People just know where we are. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use the lanterns, but that’s just how it is on this stretch of the road. We’re just here from morning till late evening most days of the week.
