Vinchip Systems

Vinchip Systems is located over at 5/103 in Poongavanapuram. It’s right in the Kaladipet area of Chennai. If you know this part of the city, you know it has a very specific feel to it. Our space is tucked away and we spend our time working on various technical systems. It’s mostly about hardware and fixing things that aren't behaving right. The salt air from the coast sometimes makes things rust faster around here, so we deal with that a lot. The office isn't anything special to look at. We have benches with tools and parts scattered around. It’s a working space, not a showroom. We get local people coming in with their problems, and we try to figure out a way to get their stuff working again. Sometimes the power goes out, which is just part of living in Chennai, so we have to wait it out. The neighbors are mostly families and other small shops. It’s quiet enough during the middle of the day. We’ve got a routine down now. One of us handles the calls while the others are busy with their hands. It’s honest work and it keeps us occupied from morning until evening. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just look at the chips and the boards and try to make sense of them. Most days are long, but we like the challenge of solving a tricky problem that someone brings us.
