Vijhay Modern Engineering is situated at T S 111 in the Fourth Phase of the Thiru Vi Ka Industrial Estate. We are right in the heart of Guindy, which is a major hub for this kind of work in Chennai. If you are looking for us, we are quite close to Priya Electricals. The shop is mostly filled with lathes, milling machines, and stacks of raw steel rods. It’s a functional space where we spend most of our waking hours. We started this engineering unit because we liked making things with our hands. It's not a clean environment; there’s always grease on our clothes and metal chips on the floor. We don't have a fancy mission statement or a glossy brochure. We just show people the work we’ve done for others and they usually give us a try. Being in the industrial estate means we are surrounded by friends who do similar work. We often borrow tools from the neighbors and they borrow from us. It’s a good community. The tea stall around the corner is where we do most of our talking about business and life. We focus on getting the dimensions right and meeting the deadlines we promised. It’s a simple business model based on hard work and staying late when a job is urgent. We’ve been at T S 111 for a long time and we like the rhythm of this industrial area.
