Caterpilaar Engineering Design Center

Our office, the Caterpilaar Engineering Design Center, is tucked away in Shamma Garden. We are specifically at 43 14 5th Avenue, on the 7th Main Road in Dandeeshwaram, Velachery. Chennai is a big place, and Velachery has its own kind of energy. It gets quite humid here, especially in the afternoons, so the fans are always going. We do a lot of design work and engineering stuff, mostly on the computers. The building is surrounded by some greenery, which is where the Shamma Garden name comes from, I suppose. It is a bit of a maze to find us if you aren't from around here, but once you find the 7th Main Road, you are basically there. We have a lot of drawings and blueprints lying around most of the time. The team is just a group of people who enjoy figuring out how things fit together. We aren't really into the whole corporate culture thing. We prefer to just wear comfortable clothes and focus on the technical details of the designs we are working on. There is a small tea shop down the road where we usually go for breaks. It is a good way to clear your head after looking at lines on a screen for four hours straight. The office is functional and does what we need it to do. We’ve been in this part of Chennai for a while and it feels like home now.
