Adyar is a busy place, and being on Sardar Patel Road means there is always a lot of noise outside our windows. We are located in the Gokul Arcade, which is one of those buildings that has been around for a bit. Our office is on the 3rd floor, unit number 3. It’s a decent space, though it gets a bit cramped when we have a lot of stuff coming in or out. Most of our day at Victoria Marine & Agro Exports Ltd. is spent on the phone or dealing with the logistics of moving goods around. The stairs in the arcade are a bit narrow, so we usually take the lift if it’s working right. We’ve got a couple of small rooms and a main area where the desks are pushed together. It’s not very modern, but it suits us just fine. On rainy days, the sound on the roof is quite loud. We know the neighbors in the building, and we often see the same faces every morning. There is a small shop nearby where we get coffee. Working here feels like being part of the local community. We don't have any flashy posters or big mission statements on the walls, just some calendars and maps to help us keep track of things. It’s a practical place for practical work, and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the traffic and the specific way the light hits the office in the late afternoon.
