Mohan Mutha Exports is located in Siyat House, at number 961, right on the busy Poonamallee High Road. This road is one of the main arteries of the city, so there’s never a quiet moment outside the windows. We’ve got an office space here that’s mostly filled with desks, computers, and old filing cabinets. Exporting is a lot of logistics and talking to people in different countries over the phone. We deal with various goods, mainly focusing on getting everything onto ships and making sure the manifests are all correct. The building, Siyat House, is easy enough to spot, but finding parking around here is usually a nightmare. Most of us just take the bus or get dropped off nearby. We spend a lot of time at our desks, tracking shipments and emailing agents at the port. It’s not the most exciting work in the world, but it’s what we do for a living. The office has a small pantry where we keep the coffee pot going all day long. There are always people coming in and out with documents that need to be signed or stamped. We try to keep things organized, but sometimes the sheer volume of paperwork makes it tough. Poonamallee High Road is always under some kind of construction. It’s a basic office setup with no fancy furniture or art on the walls. We just work.
