Venky Fashions

We operate Venky Fashions from Kilpauk. Our address is a bit confusing because it has a New No. 33 and an Old No. 11. We are located in the 1st Lane on Mandapam Road. It’s one of those narrow Chennai lanes where you have to be careful when two bikes are passing each other. The building is an older style, but it’s sturdy and keeps us dry when the monsoon rains hit. Inside, it’s mostly just us and our equipment. We don't have a big showroom with lights and mirrors. It’s more of a workshop where the actual fashion work happens. We spend a lot of time looking at patterns and dealing with local suppliers. Kilpauk is a busy area, but our lane is actually tucked away enough that we don't get all the main road noise. People sometimes get lost looking for the old number versus the new number, but they usually find us eventually. We’ve been here long enough that most of the local shopkeepers can point you to the right door. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze when we get new stock in, but we’ve learned how to stack things efficiently. We aren't a big corporate office; it’s just a few of us making things happen in a small space. We take our tea together in the afternoon and then get back to the work on Mandapam Road.
