If you ever find yourself walking through the Sidco Industrial Estatethirumazhisai, you might stumble across Shed No. 110. That is where Thiagu Engineers Pvt. Ltd. is based. It is a noisy area, full of the sounds of metal hitting metal and the hum of big machines running all day long. We have been in this shed for a while, and it has become a second home for most of the crew. The floors have seen better days, and there’s usually a bit of grease or dust around, but that is part of working in an industrial estate. We don't have a fancy lobby or a receptionist to greet you; usually, you’ll just see someone in overalls busy with a project. We handle a lot of different things here, mostly fixing parts or putting stuff together that other people need for their own businesses. The coffee machine in the corner is probably the most used piece of equipment we own, especially during the late shifts when everyone is feeling a bit tired. It’s not a glamorous job, but there is a certain kind of pride in seeing a finished piece of work leave the shed on a truck. We know the other guys in the neighboring sheds too, and sometimes we borrow tools from each other when something breaks down. It’s a community of workers just trying to make a living in this part of town. We stay busy and try to keep things moving.
