We are based at No 3A, Pasumpon Muthuramallingar Salai in Nandanam. Most people in Chennai know us better by the work we do with the dairy farmers across the state. Our office here is a busy hub. There are always people coming in with reports from the milk societies or files that need signing. It’s a co-operative, so it’s not owned by one big boss. It’s owned by the farmers themselves. That means our days are filled with a lot of coordination and making sure the milk gets from the villages to the city tables every single morning. The building isn't anything special to look at, just a standard office block with plenty of fans and old wooden desks. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, but we keep the windows open to let the breeze in. We don't have a flashy sales team. Our work is more about the logistics of keeping everything fresh and moving. You’ll see the milk vans parked nearby early in the morning before they head out. It’s a lot of responsibility, but we’ve been doing it for decades. We deal with everything from procurement to the distribution of butter and ghee. Sometimes the power goes out or a truck breaks down, and we all have to scramble to fix it. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s important for the local families and the farmers we represent.
