Tejas Designs

Tejas Designs is over at Plot No. 5 in Voc Nagar, which is in the Anna Nagar East area. It’s a decent part of town, mostly quiet streets with a mix of houses and small businesses like ours. Our space at Plot No. 5 is where all the design work happens. It’s a bit of a creative mess most of the time. We have drawings, fabric samples, and different materials spread out over the tables. It’s definitely not a showroom where everything is perfectly in place. We prefer it this way because it feels like a real workspace. The office is basically just a few rooms that we’ve converted into a studio. We have some computers for the digital side and big flat surfaces for the hands-on parts. Anna Nagar East is a nice area to be based in; it’s got plenty of trees and the roads are a bit wider than in the old parts of the city. We’ve been here for a while and have gotten to know the other shop owners nearby. We don’t really do any big advertising. Most of our work comes from people who know where we are or hear about us from someone else. It’s a small team, usually just a few of us working on different projects at the same time. We keep things relaxed and just focus on getting the designs right. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of place where we just get on with our daily tasks.
