Sri Shankeshwara Traders

Our shop is tucked away at 32 Layer Chinnathambi Street. If you’ve ever been down to Kondithope, you know it is one of those places where every inch of space is used for something. Sri Shankeshwara Traders has been part of this neighborhood for a long time. It is a bit of a tight squeeze inside with all the stock piled up, but we know where everything is. We spend most of our mornings just sorting through what arrived the day before. It is not exactly a high-tech operation. We mostly use paper ledgers and keep track of things the old-fashioned way. The street outside is always full of activity, with people passing by and other shops opening up their shutters. Sometimes it feels like we spend half our day just talking to the neighbors and the regulars who stop by. We don't go in for anything flashy. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the floor is a bit worn down from all the boots walking over it. But it works for us. We just stay focused on getting the right items to the people who need them. When the monsoon hits, the street gets a bit messy, but we just keep the goods dry and keep working. It is a plain, honest way to spend the day. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't, just a local trading spot.
