Softnet

Softnet is located in Flat No. 4 at 48 Sathya Dev Avenue in MRC Nagar, Chennai. Because we are in a flat, it feels more like a home than a regular office. We have a kitchen where we make our own tea and a small balcony where we go to get some fresh air. We work on software and networking stuff, so there are cables and routers sitting on almost every flat surface. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we have more than three or four people in the room, but we make it work. The view outside is mostly other buildings and some trees. It’s a relatively quiet street compared to the main roads in Chennai. We don't have a big sign outside, just a small one near the bell. We don't have fancy office chairs, just the ones we found that were comfortable enough to sit in for eight hours. Most of our day is spent looking at code or talking to people about their network issues. We don't use a lot of technical jargon if we can help it. We just explain things as they are. If something is broken, we tell you it's broken and how we can fix it. It’s an honest way to work. We like the independence of being in a smaller space. It keeps things relaxed and we don't have to deal with a lot of corporate rules. We just show up, do the work, and go home to our lives.
