You can find Shree Mahalakshmi Traders & Co at number 72 Govindappa Naicken Street. We are up on the second floor. The building is one of those old ones where the stairs are narrow and a bit steep, so you have to watch your step. We’ve been in this spot for quite some time now. Govindappa Naicken Street is a busy place, especially in the mornings when everyone is trying to move goods around. It’s loud and it can be a bit chaotic, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. Our office isn’t much to look at. It’s just a room with some old wooden desks, a few chairs, and stacks of ledgers. We do a lot of trading, mostly in bulk items. We don't use any fancy software for everything; we still like our paper records and handwriting things down. It feels more real that way. The team is just a few of us who have known each other forever. We don’t have a dress code or anything like that. We just show up and do the work that needs to be done. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit by the window and talk until it comes back on. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a polished image. We’re just local traders doing what we’ve always done. It’s steady work and it keeps us busy from morning until evening.
