If you find yourself at Alsa Mall in Egmore, you might have seen us. We are Sai Women'S World Boutique And Tailoringprivate Limited. We are tucked away in Shop No 52 on the ground floor of the Khaleel Centre. The address is D No 149 on Montieth Road. It is a busy part of Chennai for sure. We do a lot of tailoring work here. People bring in fabrics and we try to get the measurements right. It is a small space, but we make it work. Most days there is the sound of sewing machines running in the back. Sometimes customers come in with specific ideas for their outfits, and we just listen and do what we can. Being in a mall like Alsa Mall means we see a lot of different people. It is not like those big brand stores you see in the newer malls. We are more of a traditional setup where the focus is on the actual stitching. The lighting in our corner is okay, but we mostly rely on our experience with the needles. We have been at this location for a while now. Egmore has changed a lot, but Montieth Road still has its own old charm. We just open up in the morning, sweep the floor, and start on the pile of clothes waiting for us. It is hard work on the eyes sometimes, especially with the intricate patterns, but it keeps us going every day.
