Our office is over on Venkatesan Street in Chintadripet. The address is New No. 74, though some of the older folks still call it No. 53. It’s a busy part of the city, and there’s always something happening outside our windows. The building is an older one, with high ceilings and those heavy doors that have been painted about ten times. We’ve been here for years, handling the export side of the business. It’s a lot of coordinating between the suppliers and the ships. There’s usually a pile of shipping documents on every flat surface. We don't have a cleaning crew that comes in every night, so it looks like a place where people actually work. There are stains on the coasters and the pens are always running out. We don't really care about having the latest furniture or a polished image. What matters is that the crates get on the ships on time. We talk to a lot of different people every day, from truck drivers to bank clerks. Some days are stressful when the deadlines are tight, but we’ve got a good rhythm going. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but we’re still here doing the same honest work. It’s just a regular business run by regular people who know their trade. We don't need much more than a working phone and a desk.
