R.M. Chemicals

R.M. Chemicals is located at 131, Anna Pillai Street. If you’ve ever walked through this part of the city, you know how narrow and crowded the streets are. It’s a hub for wholesale trade, and there are always people carrying heavy loads or maneuvering carts through the crowds. Our shop is right in the thick of it. It’s a small, practical space that we’ve used for a long time. There’s no air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that hum all day. We keep our stock organized as best as we can, but it’s a tight fit. Most of our customers are people we’ve known for years, so we spend a lot of time just chatting and catching up while we work. The smell of the street—a mix of spices, exhaust, and old buildings—is just part of the daily life here. We don’t have a website that looks like a tech company’s; we mostly just rely on people knowing where we are. Sometimes it gets so busy on the street that even getting a tea delivered is a challenge. We don't have fancy branding or a big sign, just our name and the work we do. It’s a bit chaotic, it’s definitely loud, and it’s very hot in the summer, but it’s where we belong. It’s a simple, honest business run by people who know the trade inside out.
