Kodambakkam is a busy place, and our spot at No 5/1 on Dr. Subbarayannagar 8th Street is right in the middle of it all. Cabot Sanmar Limited has been operating out of this Chennai address for quite a while now. If you know this part of Tamil Nadu, you know how the traffic can get, but we are tucked away just enough to get our work done. The street is usually lined with parked scooters and people heading to the local shops. Our building is not hard to find once you turn onto 8th Street. We have 600024 as our pin code. Inside, it is just a bunch of us working through the daily list of things that need to happen. It is not a very flashy setup, just desks and computers and the usual office noise you would expect. The humidity in Chennai can be a lot, so the fans are always going. We do not have any big corporate manifestos hanging up. We just know what needs to be done each day and we try to do it right. People around here know the Cabot Sanmar name because we have been around the neighborhood for years. We usually take our tea breaks at the same time and chat about the local news or whatever is happening on the street. It is a simple way of doing things, but it works for us here in Chennai.
