Reliance Retail Limited

Our office for Reliance Retail Limited is down in Peravallur, Chennai, at what used to be Old No 3 but is now New No 1 on Sakthivel Nagar 2nd Cross Street. The change in the house numbers still catches people off guard, so we often find ourselves standing out on the street to wave down delivery drivers. It’s a typical Chennai neighborhood, with lots of houses and small shops close together. We handle the retail coordination from here, making sure the nearby stores have everything they need. The humidity can be pretty intense, but we have our fans and a good supply of filter coffee to keep us going. It’s not a fancy corporate environment. It’s just a few rooms with desks, chairs, and stacks of paperwork. We spend our time talking to vendors and checking on the status of various shipments. We know the people living on the street and the shopkeepers around the corner. We aren’t trying to be something we’re not. We’re just a small branch office of a much larger retail operation, but we run things in a very local, hands-on way. If there’s a problem with a delivery, we don’t wait for a committee to decide what to do; we just pick up the phone and sort it out. It’s about being practical and getting the job done so the customers at the stores are happy. It’s a simple, straightforward way to work, and it suits us just fine.
