Working in T. Nagar means you’re always in the middle of something. V. O. C Street is a bit quieter than the main shopping roads, but you still feel the energy of Chennai-17. Our office at 8/17 is just a regular building where we’ve set up our workstations. It’s not a fancy corporate hub with glass elevators. It’s more of a place where you’ll find a few ceiling fans whirring and a bunch of people focused on their screens. We don't use a lot of big words to describe what we do. We just handle the soft-engineering tasks that come our way. Sometimes the neighbor's dog won't stop barking, but that’s just how it is here. We don't have a mission statement or a fancy vision for the future. We just want to do a decent job today and come back and do it again tomorrow. We usually share a few laughs over a cup of tea in the afternoon. It’s a simple, human way to run a business. We don't need a lot of rules or a big HR department to tell us how to behave. We just treat each other like neighbors and get the work done. The heat in Chennai can be a bit much, so the AC is usually running all day if we can help it. We have our small routines, like who gets the snacks and where we go for lunch. It’s a friendly atmosphere because there aren't many of us here. It’s just normal people doing their best in a busy corner of the city.
