R. K. Chemicals

We run R. K. Chemicals from a small place at 12/1 on Puliyur Ist Lane in Kodambakkam. It’s one of those narrow lanes where everyone knows everyone else. We’ve been here for years, dealing with different types of chemicals for various industries. The office and the storage area are a bit tight, but we make it work. You’ll usually see some drums or containers being moved around when a shipment arrives. It’s a very hands-on kind of business. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that; people usually find us because they need something specific and heard we have it. The air around here sometimes smells a bit like the products we handle, which the neighbors are mostly used to by now. It’s a busy little spot, and we spend a lot of our time checking stocks and talking to suppliers. Sometimes the rain makes the lane a bit muddy, which is a pain for the delivery guys. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in Chennai, just a reliable one that people can come to. It’s mostly family-run or feels like it because we’ve had the same workers for a long time. We drink a lot of coffee, talk to the local vendors, and just try to get through the daily list of orders. It’s a simple setup, but it’s been working for us for quite a while now. We just stay focused on the chemicals.
