Periyar Ayurvedic Clinic Vadapalani

We have been operating the clinic at 36/1 Arunachalam Road in Vadapalani for a good many years now. It is a busy street, so there is always noise from the traffic and people walking by outside. Most of our days are spent mixing up the oils or talking with the locals who come in with various aches. The building isn't brand new, and sometimes the front door sticks a bit when the humidity gets high. Inside, it smells strongly of herbs and sandalwood, which some people like and others find a bit much at first. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who have been here a long time. There are wooden benches in the waiting area that have seen better days. We don't have fancy computer systems for everything; a lot of our notes are still kept in paper files tucked into the cabinets. Sometimes the power flickers during the afternoon rain, but we just keep going. It’s a practical place for people who want traditional treatments without any fuss. We see a lot of the same faces every week, mostly folks from the nearby apartment blocks. We don't bother with fancy uniforms either, just comfortable clothes that we don't mind getting a bit of oil on. It’s just a regular part of life here in Vadapalani, nothing more and nothing less than a local clinic doing its thing.
