At Chendur Siddha and Ayurvedha Pharma, we work out of Plot No 5 in the Subiksha Ganesh Apartment. It’s on 1st Street in Vasu Nagar, over in the Ponniiamman Medu part of Kolathur. Being in an apartment building makes it feel a bit different than a regular shop. We deal mostly in traditional medicines, things like oils and powders that people have used for generations. It smells like herbs and roots in here most of the day. The space isn't huge, so we have to be careful about where we stack the boxes so we don't trip. Sometimes the neighbors come by just to ask questions or see how we are doing. It’s a quiet area compared to the main roads nearby. We spend a lot of time checking labels and making sure everything is stored exactly where it belongs. It gets busy during the middle of the week when shipments arrive. We don’t really do big advertisements. Most people find us because they live nearby or heard about us from someone else in Kolathur. The stairs can be a bit of a pain when a big shipment comes in, but we have a rhythm now. We keep a ledger for everything because it's easier. It’s a small operation, just a few of us making sure people get what they need. We try to keep things organized, even if it looks a bit cluttered to an outsider. It’s just how it is when you have so many small bottles and packets to keep track of every day.
