C.U. Sha Clinic

The clinic is tucked away on Muthu Street in Periamet. We’ve been at number 7 for many years now. It’s a small place, mostly just a waiting area and the consultation rooms. You can find us easily because we are right in the middle of the busy market area. The street outside is always full of people and noise. Inside, it’s a bit quieter, though the waiting room gets full on Monday mornings. We have some old plastic chairs for people to sit on while they wait for their turn. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we are too busy to get to it right now. Our patients are mostly local folks from around Chennai 600 003. We know a lot of them by their first names. It’s a basic setup. We have a desk for the registers and a cupboard for the files. Sometimes the ceiling fan makes a clicking sound, but it keeps the air moving in the heat. We don't have fancy machines, just the usual things you’d find in a neighborhood clinic. People come in with coughs or to get their blood pressure checked. We open up early and stay until the last person is seen. It’s just a regular part of the neighborhood. We try to keep things organized, but it gets a bit messy when we’re busy.
