Perikali

Perikali is located at J- 862 on 13th Main Road in Anna Nagar. It’s a busy street, and we’re right in the thick of it. We do a bit of everything here related to design and making clothes. The space isn't huge, so we have to be smart about where we put the cutting mats and the big fabric rolls. It often looks like a total mess to an outsider, but we know exactly where the blue silk or the heavy cotton is hidden under the table. We don’t really do big meetings or have formal talks. Usually, we just chat over the sound of the fans while we work on the patterns. Anna Nagar is a good place to be, lots of people passing by our windows. Sometimes someone pops their head in just to ask what we’re making today. We aren't a big corporation with different departments; we all just pitch in where it's needed most. If the floor needs sweeping, one of us picks up the broom. If a customer has a question about a sleeve, whoever is closest to the door answers. We like the independence of being a small shop. It means we can change things up without asking for permission from anyone. The air conditioning struggles in the summer heat, but we manage with the fans. We just keep our heads down and try to get the orders finished by the time the sun goes down. It’s a simple, honest way to spend the day and we like the people we work with every day in the shop.
