If you’re coming from the main part of town, it takes a little while to get back here because the roads are narrow. The neighborhood is a mix of houses and small shops. Our office is just one of those places that fits right in without standing out. We don’t have a big corporate lobby with a receptionist. You just walk in and you’re basically where all the action happens. We handle software things, which mostly means a lot of troubleshooting and writing code for hours. It can be tedious, but it’s what pays the bills. The team is small, so we all know who is doing what every day. We don’t really have formal departments or hierarchy. If something breaks, the person closest to it usually fixes it without much fuss. We drink a lot of coffee to stay awake during the long afternoons when the sun hits the windows. The building itself is older, and the air conditioning struggles sometimes when it’s really hot outside. We have some desks pushed together and wires running along the floor in certain spots. It’s not the neatest place, but we know where everything is kept. We don’t put on an act for anyone. We’re just regular people doing a job. If you come by, you’ll find us hunched over our laptops or tablets. It’s a quiet life for the most part.
