Down in Chennai, specifically at Egmore, we have our setup for Origin Infosys Pvt Ltd. We are actually located in the Railway Quarters, Type 2/No 118-E, right on Periyar Evr Road. It is a bit of a unique spot for an office, being in the quarters like this, but it works out fine for what we do. The area is always humming because of the railway nearby and the general traffic of Chennai-8. We spend our days mostly staring at screens and typing away. Since it is a private limited company, there is some official stuff we have to keep up with, but day-to-day, it feels pretty casual. We have our computers set up where there was once probably a living room or a bedroom. It is a bit like a home office but scaled up. We drink a lot of coffee and try to stay on top of the information systems we manage. Sometimes the power flickers or the internet gets slow, and we all just take a collective breath until it comes back. It isn’t a corporate tower with a lobby or a security guard at a desk. It is just a regular building where we do our tech work. We know the neighbors and the people who walk by every day. It’s a lived-in kind of place, and we are quite comfortable here.
