Orchids Bijoux Impex

You can find us over at No.36 on Brahmin Street, though some of the older mail still shows the old house number 33/A. We are right near the bus stop in Dandeeswar, which is part of Velachery. Being that close to the bus stop means there is always a crowd outside and people rushing to catch their ride. Inside at Orchids Bijoux Impex, things are a bit more focused. We deal with a lot of import and export details, so there’s usually a pile of paperwork sitting on someone’s desk. The building is older, which gives it a bit of character, I guess. We have these high ceilings and the light comes in through the front windows in the afternoon. Velachery has grown so much lately, it feels like there is a new shop opening every week nearby. We’ve stayed put though. Our routine is pretty much the same: get in, check the messages, and start sorting through the latest arrivals. Sometimes the internet acts up when it rains, but we manage. We aren’t a huge team, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, whether it’s answering the door or filing away invoices. It’s a busy street, and sometimes the noise from the buses is loud, but you get used to it after a few days. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing, one day at a time, keeping track of all the items arriving and going out to different places.
