Kesar Jewel Craft

You can find us at Vds House, number 41 on Cathedral Road in Gopalapuram. It’s a busy part of town, so there is always a hum of cars and people outside our windows. Kesar Jewel Craft isn't a massive factory; it’s more of a workshop where things actually get made. We have benches set up with all our tools, and there is usually a thin layer of dust from the materials we work with. The lighting in Vds House is okay, but we have extra lamps at every station so we can see the small details clearly. It gets a bit hot in the summer, so we keep the fans going all day long. We've been in Gopalapuram for a while and have seen the street change quite a bit, but our little corner stays pretty much the same. We don’t really do fancy meetings. Usually, it’s just us sitting around the work area, talking about what needs to get finished by the end of the week. Sometimes we run out of a specific wire or stone and someone has to run out and get it. It’s a very hands-on kind of life. We like being on Cathedral Road because everything we need is close by. It’s a solid place to work, even if the stairs in the building are a bit steep and the elevator is temperamental sometimes.
