New Chennai Enterprises

New Chennai Enterprises is located on the 3rd Floor at 230 Thambu Chetty Street. It is a busy street, as anyone in Chennai can tell you, and getting things up to the third floor is always a bit of a workout. We don't have one of those big fancy lifts, so we rely on the old one that creaks a lot or just use the stairs if we are in a hurry. The office stays pretty warm during the summer months, but we have a few fans that keep the air moving. We handle a lot of paperwork and various trade goods here. The desks are covered in ledgers and old files because we still like to keep track of things on paper when we can. Thambu Chetty Street is always humming with the sound of horns and people selling things on the pavement below. From our windows, you can see the tops of the other old buildings. It is a bit crowded inside with all the samples and boxes stacked against the walls, but we know where everything is. The staff has been together for a long time, so we just get on with it without needing much talk. We drink a lot of coffee during the day to stay sharp. It is not a quiet place to work, but it feels right for the kind of business we do. We usually finish up late and head down into the crowded street to find a bus or a rickshaw home.
