Our office for Msn Chem International (P) Ltd is tucked away on Wason Street in T. Nagar. If you’ve ever tried to park in Chennai, you know how it is around here. It’s No. 7/4, not a very big place but we manage everything from these few rooms. The street is usually crowded with people heading toward the shops, so it gets noisy by midday. We have a couple of desks piled with files and the phones seem to ring at the same time every morning. It’s mostly just us handling the chemical side of things, talking to suppliers and checking on deliveries. The air conditioning is a bit old, so it makes a humming sound while we work, but you get used to it after a few days. We usually bring our lunches from home and eat together in the small back area. There isn't much of a corporate vibe here. It’s more about getting the orders right and making sure the transport is on schedule. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, and we just sit and wait or step outside for some air. It’s a plain way to run a business, focusing on the day-to-day stuff without any extra flashiness. T. Nagar is a lively spot to be in, even if the traffic is a headache most of the time.
