Our place is at Plot No. 1 on Dr. Radhakrishnan Salai in Palaniappa Nagar. Valasaravakkam is a busy area and being on this corner means we see a lot of people passing by. We handle various supplies and try to keep a bit of everything in stock. The office isn't very large so we have to be clever about how we stack the boxes. Most days involve a lot of checking lists and making sure the orders are ready for the local deliveries. It is a bit of a squeeze when a big shipment comes in and we have to move everything around to make room. The street outside can get quite loud with the Chennai traffic but we don't pay it much mind anymore. We’ve been at this location for a while now and the locals know where to find us. It is just a few of us working here and we’ve become like a small family over the years. We take our breaks together and talk about whatever is happening in the news. There isn't anything fancy about how we run things. We just try to stay organized and make sure we don't lose any paperwork in the piles on the desks. It’s a regular job and we are happy to be doing it in this part of town. Sometimes the rain floods the road outside but we just keep working and wait for it to clear up. It is just part of being here.
