We are located at 42, Anderson Street, which is a place that feels like it’s full of history and old buildings. Maimoon Paper Industries is one of those places where there is always a stack of something being moved. Whether it’s raw paper or finished products, the smell of wood pulp and ink is always around. The street itself is narrow, so when a truck comes to unload, everything else kind of has to stop for a minute. It’s a bit of a squeeze, but we make it work. Inside, it’s not very modern. We have our old machines and our heavy cutting tables. We don’t spend money on fancy furniture because the paper takes up all the room anyway. Most of us here have been working with paper for years, so we can tell the quality just by feeling it. It’s a bit dusty, and the noise of the cutters can be a lot if you aren't used to it. We just focus on getting the dimensions right and making sure the edges are clean. There isn't any big marketing team here; we just answer the door when someone knocks or the phone when it rings. It’s a simple trade. We take the orders, we cut the paper, and we send it out. That is how life goes on Anderson Street for us. We might not have the newest technology, but our hands know the machines well. Sometimes the noise gets to you, and we have to step outside for air.
